In St. Petersburg on October 18-19, 2023, a medical competition for the prize of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) was held under the leadership of the head of the medical service of the Main Command of the Navy, Colonel of the Medical Service Igor Gennadievich Mosyagin.

Specialists from the medical services of the fleets and the Caspian flotilla took part in the Competition. A total of 35 people took part in the competition.

The competition took place in three stages. On the first day, on the basis of the Military Institute (additional professional education) of the VUNTS Navy "Naval Academy", theoretical knowledge was tested using the testing method on the organization and tactics of the medical service of the fleet (with the TBSF course), medical supply and pharmacy, naval and radiation hygiene, diving medicine, emergency care, General Military Regulations of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the fight for the survivability of the ship..

During the second stage of the Competition on the basis of the Naval Institute of the VUNTS Navy "Naval Academy", naval medics demonstrated their physical fitness, strength, endurance, ability to swim and tug of war.

The final stage of the Competition was testing practical skills at the simulation center of the Military Medical Academy named after. CM. Kirov, where resuscitation was carried out on special mannequins, wounds were sutured, bleeding was stopped, bandages were applied, injections were performed and other manipulations were performed.

According to the results of the competition, the team of the medical service of the Black Sea Fleet won, the team of the medical service of the Pacific Fleet took second place, and the team of the Military Medical Directorate of the Northern Fleet took third place. Also during the Competition, the best specialists in their categories were identified. The awarding of the best medical service of the fleet and the best doctor of the Navy is planned to be held at the summing up of the activities of the medical service of the Navy for 2023.
