Abstract

The study attempted to trace changes in Navy personnel members satisfaction with their sex life over the period of the active phase of reforms in the armed forces of the Russian Federation. Changes that were revealed include decreased proportion of subjects inclined to sexual excesses, increased frequency and duration of coituses, and higher subjective estimates of sexual success. At the same time, the evidence obtained suggest that the physiological, primarily the erectile, component of sex life in Navy personnel members is highly vulnerable to the adverse effects of military service. This finding warants working out of novel health care standards of sexological support, including medical, psychological and pedagogical interventions, aimed at preparing prospective navy offices to family life.
