LIFESTYLE AND BEHAVIORAL STEREOTYPES INFLUENCING THE HEALTH CONDITIONS OF NAVY PERSONNEL UNDER PRESENT-TIME CONDITIONS

Kutelev G.M., Zaitsev A.G.

Abstract

Anonymous questionnaires were used to obtain the subjective judgments about lifestyles of contracted Navy personnel. Comparing with judgments obtained in the same way in 2007 reveals significant changes in lifestyles. Most respondents (83,7%) self-report that they are physically fit. This proportion is 20% higher than before the active phase of the military reform started. More than half of respondents (55,8%) are engages in endurance training on a regular basis. The proportion of military men engaged in all sports and physical culture activities has increased by more than 20% in the recent years. Positive trends in attitudes to adverse habits, regular medical examinations, and healthy lifestyle are noticeable. However, factor analysis suggests that health strategies that are either unpromising, inefficient or incompatible with military service are still predominant among navy personnel.

PITUITARY-ADRENAL SYSTEM OF SOLDIERS OF THE PACIFIC FLEET IN THE INITIAL PERIOD OF SERVICE

Polovov C.F., Antonyuk M.V., Andryukov B.G.

Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of adaptive processes in soldiers-recruits the Pacific Fleet in the initial period of military service for evaluation of the functional activity of the pituitary-adrenal system. The studies were conducted taking into account climatic and geographical features of the Far Eastern region, desynchronosis occurring as an effect of young soldiers trans-meridian move from the western regions of the country and the health of the subjects in the period of 2012-2015. The conclusion is that the circadian rhythms of the secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone and cortisol allow us to estimate the dynamics of the adaptation process, and to establish the degree of completion of the adaptation of the body at the level of neuroendocrine functions. Adapting to changing living conditions conscripts starts with the first days of stay in the Far East and are not certified, decreases even after 90 days of service. We soldiers with inadequate and low power holds the potential inhibition of power stress implementing mechanisms whereby the completion of the adaptation process is delayed up to 6 months and more.

Iskra D.A., Lobzin S.V., Lobzina A.S.

Abstract

The article deals with modern understanding of etiopathogenesis of chronic post-traumatic headache, gives the current classification of this cephalalgia and describes the algorithm of its diagnosis and treatment. It is found that the chronic form of a post-traumatic cephalalgia, unlike other headaches, is not determined by the number of painful days per month but by the duration of its preservation after brain injury. The leading factors of the pathogenesis of this headache are the psychopathological changes and analgesics overuse. Therefore, effective treatment of chronic post-traumatic cephalalgia should include measures to prevent the development of drug-induced headache and preventive therapy with the use of antidepressants

DRINKING WATER FOR SEAMEN. HISTORY AND PRESENT DAYS

Azarov I.I., Butakov S.S., Zholus B.I., Petreev I.V.

Abstract

Currently, as the development of the Arctic became more active additional protection of the territory is demanded. The garrisons requiring the modem life support infrastructure for military contingents are being created in severe climatic conditions of the Polar region. One of the important factors and living conditions is water-supply of garrisons. At the same time the drinking water produced from melted snow can’t be considered valuable as it virtually doesn’t contain salts, is low-mineralized and, at the same time, can have a high level of man-made contamination. It is a common feeling generally recognized that drinking such water causes imbalance of water-salt metabolism in the organism, and leads to the increase in the incidence of cardiovascular pathology. Consequently, melt-water must be cleared, mineralized, that is to saturate with the salts, preferably to the level of the physiological usefulness, as required by current Federal sanitary legislation of Russia. The urgency of the problem of conditioning of melt water in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation is not in doubt.
